- Receive, interpret and clarify shift changeover details
- Communicate with other personnel

- Perform equipment pre-start checks to ensure equipment is ready for operation
- Identify, address and report potential risks and hazards
- Identify, address and report environmental issues
- Adhere to emergency procedures
- Start-up equipment in sequence
- Operate and monitor flotation equipment
- Read and interpret data from equipment indicators
- Continuously inspect and monitor plant and identify flotation process defects and potential problems
- Assess mineral content of ore according to flotation parameters
- Make appropriate adjustments to flotation process
- Adjust equipment to prescribed operating parameters
- Control feed to flotation equipment
- Add reagents according to operating parameters
- Carry out operator level maintenance
- Complete all required documentation
- Pass on end of shift information to oncoming shift
- Conduct housekeeping activities
- Shut down in sequence and/or isolate equipment
